چکیده
In this paper, recycled cellulose diacetate (rCDA) derived from cigarette butts was used as a fiber stabilizer to develop stone mastic asphalt (SMA) mixtures. The characterizations of rCDA were investigated by scanning electron microcopy (SEM), Fourier transform infrared spectrometer (FTIR), and thermogravimetric analyzer (TGA). Volumetric stability, temperature moisture fatigue performance SMA mixtures with tested obtain the pavement performance. Results showed that appeared have tough surface texture curly corrugated structure, which facilitated enhancement cohesion bond binder. TG-DTG indicated maximum weight loss (62.48%) obtained at temperatures ranging 294.1°C 376.0°C due decomposition degradation organic matters. When 0.4% in mixture, dynamic stability 4,105 cycles/mm. ultimate flexural strength stiffness modulus 3,722 MPa 9.7 MPa. It superior 0.3% polyacrylonitrile (PAN), while inferior polyester (PET). value tensile ratio residual Marshall 80.2 75.3%, respectively. life technically like PAN PET lower stress levels. All results concluded optimum content mass

Stone mastic asphalt: assessing the effect of cellulose fibre additives
& Currently, in the UK, there is considerable interest in the fact that a German bituminous surfacing mixture known as stone mastic asphalt may possess levels of in-service performance that resist the growing incidence of premature failure experienced by traditional materials such as hot rolled asphalt. A high stone content grading requires the use of a stabilizing additive to ensure long-term ...
متن کاملEstimation the Fatigue Number of Stone Mastic Asphalt Mixtures Modified with Nano SiO2 and Nano TiO2
Asphalt modification/reinforcement has received considerable attention as viable solutions to enhance flexible pavement performance. This is mainly prompted by the unsatisfactory performance of traditional road materials exposed to dramatic increases and changes in traffic patterns. This paper presents the evaluation of fatigue behaviour of nano reinforced Stone Mastic Asphalt mixtures. Fatigue...
متن کاملMacroscopic constitutive law for Mastic Asphalt Mixtures from multiscale modeling
A well established framework of an uncoupled hierarchical modeling approach is adopted here for the prediction of macroscopic material parameters of the Generalized Leonov (GL) constitutive model intended for the analysis of flexible pavements at both moderate and elevated temperature regimes. To that end, a recently introduced concept of a statistically equivalent periodic unit cell (SEPUC) is...
متن کاملStone Mastic Asphalt Pavement Technology for the New Millennium
Since the 1960s, Stone Mastic Asphalt (SMA) pavement surfaces have been used successfully in Germany on heavily trafficked roads. Because of its excellent performance characteristics, road authorities in Germany as well as major European Countries quickly adopted SMA as a standard wearing course. As a consequence of an asphalt study tour in Europe of an American delegation in 1990, SMA test sec...
